How to Install & Setup WordPress SEO Plugin by Yoast - 7 Ways to Help You

For business search engine optimization (SEO), WordPress self-hosted users helped by SEO plugins. Two of the most popular SEO plugins are All in One SEO pack and Yoast SEO.

Which is better used? I think Yoast SEO because of its features is more complete from the keyword density up to readability.

Unfortunately, setting Yoast SEO is quite complicated and might confuse novices. Well, to help you do not like it, here's how to easily set the plugin.

Step 1: Install the Yoast SEO

The first step you do is installation of the Yoast SEO. Sign in to your WordPress blog-hosting your self.

1. On Plugin feature, click Add New.

2. Type in the search box Yoast SEO plugin.

3. Click Install Now.

4. Click Active.

Step 2: Enable Advanced Settings Page

After installing Yoast SEO, the next step is the plugin settings. For that, follow the steps below.

1. Click Settings.

2. On the General page of Yoast SEO that appears, click the Features tab.

3. See pages Advanced settings section and click Enabled to enable features Titles & Metas, Social, XML sitemaps, and so on.

4. Click Save changes.

Step 3: Fill in the Title and Meta Descriptions Homepage

The next step is to fill in the title and description of the front page (homepage) your blog. Do the following:

1. Click Titles & Metas.

2. On the page that appears, click the Homepage tab.

3. Type in the page title in the Title box template and description Meta description box template. In order for the title of this description is not truncated in Google search results, create no more than 63 characters. Set the meta description of a maximum of 130 characters.

There are alots of examples of titles and meta descriptions that has been shared by some bloggers (Refer to Google).

Step 4: Set Post Types

Yoast SEO allows you to set the type of posts, pages, and media. For this purpose, proceed as follows.

1. Click the Post Types.

2. At the Posts, change the Title template into type the title alone. Template meta description, meta Robots, Date in Snippet Preview, and Yoast SEO Meta Box leave it as the default.

3. Do the same thing on the Pages.

3. Similarly, in the Media section. After that, click Save changes.

Step 5: Set Taxonomies

Taxonomies include categories, tags, and archive-based formats. Personally, I do not want these three indexed in Google to avoid duplicate content.

If you want it too, do the following steps:

1. On the Categories, select no index.

2. Do the same on Tags.

3. And also on Format. Click Save changes.

Step 6: Setting Archives

Yoast SEO Archives section consists of archives authors, archive data, and a special page. I always set the non-index to archive the author and the date of filing. As for the specials page, I leave it as the default.

The way the setting as follows:

1. For archives Author Meta Robots in settings, select noindex

2. Do the same thing on a Date archives settings.

3. Allow Special Pages like luggage. Submit it by clicking Save changes.

Step 7: Other Settings

Other parts consist of a subpage archives, meta keywords tag, and meta sitewide. I always give noindex and third disable it.

Actually, there are many features Yoast SEO. However, the settings that I do on the blog Indonesian and English I like above. Good luck!
